This killing took place about a block from where I grew up. When I was a kid, in the '50s and '60s, this was a predominately Jewish neighborhood, and there was no crime at all. It's probably still a fairly safe neighborhood, but the ethnic composition has changed.I used to live about a half mile from there and, no, it is not a safe neighborhood anymore.
