When Earl Buchanan was laid off from his job with Bond Bread in 1955, he decided to change careers and ended up quite satisfied with his life's work
A U.S. Marine veteran, he joined at 17 during World War II and was on his way to the West Coast for deployment to the Pacific when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt died.

My dad was a pilot for China National Airlines Company, owned by American Airlines way back in the 30s.
His last flying gig was cargo and R&R troops over the Hump in the CBI, flying C-46 airplanes.

Taking a flying boat somewhere has always been one of my dreams.
Right now I hate to fly. I'd rather drive a thousand miles than get in a plane. Now, if I had a deal like Nancy Pelosi . . .
