The fact that he's talking about Apple means that the ads have had the desired effect.

he was ASKED ABOUT THE APPLE ADS thats why he was talking about them... UNDERSTAND?

Apple isn't even on the the freaking radar. understand?

It apparently is when Microsoft is in such a rush to copy Apple. There's an old adage in the computer industry:

Microsoft can't afford for Apple to go under because that means they'll lose their R&D department.

Sorry, Echo, but I have to disagree on that one. If Apple wasn't on the radar screen, the Zune wouldn't exist, MS wouldn't have opened their own music store, the Aero desktop wouldn't exist and MS wouldn't have incorporated "Gadgets" on the Vista desktop.

If you haven't read "Business at the Speed of Thought", it's a good read. Gates talks about the future of business, and also about his business philosophy. MS has always operated in a state of controlled paranoia.
