When you go to "My computer" and bring up the network drives

I'm not really understanding the question correctly... are you able to do what you need to get done, but it's just a little funky?

Yeah, instead of double-clicking on a drive to open it, you have to right-click and bring up the menu. Open isn't the top choice, but down the list. On most of the other computers, if you right click, open is the top choice, so I assume the action on top in the menu is the default double-click option. The computer tech guy just said, right click to open it, because he didn't know how to fix it and it's just a minor annoyance.

I figure, though, that somewhere, there's a way to change the order of menu choices for that right-click, but have no idea where it would be.
