Half the 16,000 murders in the USA last year went unsolved. Why do we even bother when the effort is such a waste?
And rapes? Geez, there must have been hundreds of thousands that never even got reported.
More of these crimes would be solved if LEO resources were freed up from the WOD. Less of these crimes would be committed if jail cells weren't occupied by nonviolent drug offendors under mandatory minimum sentencing.

Money is not the problem. One question is which costs more? The laws against drugs (it's not a war unless you consider every law a war on sin), or not having these as crimes?
Let's look at San Francisco where it is, of course, legal to abuse drugs, alcohol, anything and cover the streets in urine and the parks in human feces, while the scum get paid to maintain their vices by the City. What's the real cost in lives and quality of life.
