"I for one will do the anti-Hillary thing and pull the RIGHT lever, however wrong it may be at the time."

You might do that, but what do you think average-Joe pro-life gun owner will do?

He don't follow politics like we do here, he looks at who supports his issues.

How many times have you heard someone say "They're all the same." They choose on their issue and if they get no choices they stay home.

They will stay home and we will have President Hillary.

That is what will happen.

Sorry for the delay, I was checking out information on Hunter, bills and votes on various matters.

I believe we better be very sure we get a Conservative Republican elected or we are going to be headed into a maelstrom regarding this country.

Between the socialist un growing more wanton in attacking what we stand for, the gun grabbers trying to take away our RTKBA, millions of babies being ripped from their mothers wombs, gays demanding they can marry and adopt children, an invasion on our southern border, probable terrorist sleeper cells living amongst us, and our politicians selling out our military at every opportunity just to name a few. We need a strong leader in this country. People like hillery and rudy and mcpain will drive a death nail into our country which we may never recover from or if we do, will take several election cycles to get it back...if it's possible.

Bingo!

But we are the ones that better get to work to make sure it never gets to that point.

Hillary is about the most polarizing figure the RATS could possibly nominate. If we wind up stuck with someone that polarizes our own base, we are screwed.

That is what the RATS are praying for!

It is the point, Dave. What do you mean the candidate can't just have the right positions? That's the entire crux of it. If they don't have principles and willing to stand by those principles come what may, what good are they? They'd be like willows waving in the wind.

I haven't seen his name anywhere else but here on FR. Shoot, I've got the right positions that Freepers would love. Jim Robinson does too. Most of us do. But none of us are electable. It ain't just positions; it's credentials.

I wasn't that familiar with him but I learned what he stood for and in which direction he wants this country going in.

It is just positions. Without strong positions and convictions and believing in them, we're no good for our country or the future of our children and grandchildren. That's who I fight for. Their future. You think I want them growing up knowing that I didn't hand to them the same country my pop handed to me. That I failed to protect their rights and freedoms?

We're trying to get him in the game but, he's going up against a stacked deck, imho. The media have decided who the losing Republican will be. It's early yet, I know, but, they have their golden boys already chosen and Hunter isn't one of them. I'd rather cast my vote for an unelectable who holds the same principles that I do knowing he can't win than vote for someone who's against what I believe in. I won't sell my soul to the devil.

Giuliani is probably the only one that really could pull it off

He's not worth throwing away my principles or my soul, he'll never get my vote.

I don't know, but for the first time since I've been on FreeRepublic I found the wording of the poll offensive.

I won't vote for hillery.
I won't vote for a social liberal with a big "R" behind their name. May as well have a "D" behind it. I'm running out of options here.
I can't be undecided because I'd have to choose one or the other who are one in the same in my eyes.
I only have one option left.

Another thing to think about...

Look at all the groups the rats have supporting them. Unions, ACLU, anti-war, eco-freaks, NAACP, NARAL, NOW...

WE ( normally) have NRA, GOA, Right to Life, Family values etc.

With someone like JimRob mentioned above, our groups would be working against us too!

I pray people pull their heads out of their a$$ and rethink what the "Mayor" would do to our party if nominated.

Every Republican running would be dragged down with him.

I liked it. I saw it as in your face. Decide. We better get behind a conservative, a Republican Conservative and start working. We now need to find a Conservative Republican that fits the bill and fill it or we're gonna get stuck with the hildabeast.

Which is why I started a thread on it. At least, that's how I read it.

Agreed. Which is why I won't vote for him.

Decide? It's almost 2 years away, there is no way we can know a candidate now. He may well be all the things that were listed, but what if it turned out that he was also a transexual pedophile as well? Don't you think it would be smart to find out those thing before you decide?

I'm sorry, but picking a president isn't like choosing your favorite sports team. It's serious business and needs to be carefully thought out and the candidates need to be seriously vetted by people who actually care about voting.

"Agreed. Which is why I won't vote for him."

We need to do more than cast our one vote ( I'm sure you do), we have to get to work and get someone we can live with the nomination.

For Hunter ( or another conservative) we can donate a lil cash, but we can also try to get their name out there so people start talking and they get some press time.

If they start getting mentioned enough they will get media time and that is free.

Once they get covered as a serious contender the deep pockets will give some real cash$$.

Getting them mentioned and known is something us little guys can do without being rich.

Then we work in primaries, signs, etc

No, no you misunderstood. Decide what you stand for. Are you a Republican Conservative and vote your values or vote for a rino because they have an R after their name.

As far as the later you mentioned about him, he's a zero on my scale now. He will not get my vote.

It's serious business and needs to be carefully thought out and the candidates need to be seriously vetted by people who actually care about voting.

I treat it as such. I'm always investigating the nominees and their choices, their votes. I not gonna vote a pig in a poke. My candidate will have all my support and all my support is going to Hunter. He's a conservative Republican on all I can find out about him.

The premise of the poll is that it is election day 2008 and your ballot lists Hillary Clinton (D) vs a right-wing conservative as the (R) for president. Who do you vote for? Should be obvious. I don't think it's offensive and I don't think it's forcing anyone to make an early decision. I simply want to find out how many of our members would actually vote for a so-called "unelectable" conservative if given the opportunity. The "too stupid vote" bit was a joke. I don't see how any member of FR would take more than one second to decide between Hillary and a qualified conservative Republican candidate (unless, perhaps, they are normally a third party voter. Hmmmm... and even then there should be no delay in deciding).

I'm spreading the word about him to everyone I talk too. All my family members. People in the check out line. I talk a little too loud in restaurants for the benefit of those sitting near us. Our friends. He should be receiving some of my dear hubby's hard earned money and I'm stingy with his money. It has to be for someone or something I believe in, and I believe in him.

I must be really clueless or tired tonight.

I went to the home page to try and find the poll.

Can't find the poll. Where's the link?
