Any guesses on who 'The Patriot with the big "R" behind his name is?
Pro small government?
Name the last time he introduced a bill to delete a law, any of the ineffective non-used laws or regulations crafted by our betters.
Sorry, I don't have access to such information. But JimRob is the one who put up the poll, so he probably has some info to back up the contention.
Ping to the new sidebar poll, if you haven't seen it, and discussion.
Thanks to conserv8ive1, I found some small-guvmint positions that DH has taken:
http://www.issues2002.org/CA/Duncan_Hunter.htm
Voted YES on restricting independent grassroots political committees. (Apr 2006)
Voted YES on prohibiting lawsuits about obesity against food providers. (Oct 2005)
Voted YES on limiting attorney's fees in class action lawsuits. (Feb 2005)
Voted YES on restricting frivolous lawsuits. (Sep 2004)
Voted NO on campaign finance reform banning soft-money contributions. (Feb 2002)
Voted YES on banning soft money donations to national political parties. (Jul 2001)
Voted NO on banning soft money and issue ads. (Sep 1999)
Limit punitive damages; term limits on Congress. (Sep 1994)
Government is too big, too intrusive, too easy with money. (Sep 1994)
Anyone that has been checking voting records and statements of those running would know its Duncan Hunter.
Duncan Hunter's got my vote.
You don't have to convince me; I like the guy. My point is one I have made to anyone asking my vote -- School Board to Senator. NOT ONE has ever replied in the affirmative. Oh, they say that they have 'modified' them -- but never rescinded one.
And mine, along with my family's.
It seems like NRA, GOA, Right to Life, etc. would be getting his name out there. They wouldn't have to endorse him now, just write a little blurb about his record on the issues.
I know I'll be mentioning his name at the gun clubs every chance I get.
OK, understood... interesting filter to view things.
I whole heartedly agree. I wonder why they haven't. I'm going to have to send them an email and ask them why?
Can someone give a few more clues?
What galaxy are we in?
What planet are we on?
What's the rough general topic area besides patriotism?
What's the goal?
What's the criteria?
What's the context?
GOOD ONE!
It'll go something like this:
Well, it appears that a right-wing conservative Republican will certainly fit the bill for the vast majority of our members, now suppose a social liberal is nominated.
If the Republican nominee has a track record of making guns illegal and says he must "regulate" guns because he knows he can't constitutionally "take them away," one who says he'll appoint strict constructionists in the mold of Scalia and Roberts but also that he admires Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and claims to be against abortion but favors "a woman's right to choose" and is okay with partial birth abortion and says he believes Roe vs Wade is settled law, and who says he's against gay marriage but for gay unions and protecting "gay rights," and one who is weak on illegal immigration and has no discernible documented conservative record on anything whatsoever who will you vote for?
Hillary
The social liberal with the big "R"
Third party
Stay home
Undecided/praying that it doesn't happen
I suspect that poll will be more split.
I for one will do the anti-Hillary thing and pull the RIGHT lever, however wrong it may be at the time.
I truly hope we do not degrade to that choice.
Good enough, Jim.
Just do it! ;^)
praying that it doesn't happen
