This is a subject I know a little about and is no excuse for losing all self control and ruining your life. My parents were divorced when I was 5. My mother was very beautiful like ANS and had been married 6 or 7 times (she married one twice) and we were bounced between grandparents and our mother and her different husbands all our childhood...

I counted something like 30 different schools I attended before I graduated. I don't do drugs and I don't drink or smoke and have been married to the same man for over 30 years.

I am also very opinionated and strong willed, probably part of what saved me along with a few caring teachers along the way. My sisters are not as balanced as I, but they are not addicts, either, though both have some issues.

I'm only saying this to say I don't totally give a bad childhood as an excuse for bad behavior.

I agree......

If you check back, you'll see that the discussion is about her supposedly "caring" mother.

Wow! You deserve so much credit for being the person you are. Not many people would be that strong with all the adversity. I'm sure your husband of 30 years appreciates the person that you are. If you have children, you're probably a wonderful mom.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone were like you? Instead, we sometimes get...."feel sorry for me because I wasn't given a chance early in life......." (HA! I think these are the "poor" people the liberals ask us to support!)

I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all that. God bless you for having the strength to persevere.
