I have no idea what the purpose of the methadone prescription was for ANS, but please know that methadone is an extremely common pain medicine for chronic back pain, among other painful ailments. It is long acting and doesn't have the same dosage frequency as other opiates. It is not just utilized to wean addicts off of heroin.

They often have a morbid fear of being alone while conscious.
