BTW, it has been reported that somehow the trial transcripts are still not ready and of course appeals can take years. How outrageous to keep the BP agents jailed all this time.

The agents asked the trial judge to allow to be released while the appeal is pending but that request was denied, citing a concern of flight risk. The agents can request the 5th circuit to release them pending the appeal. I understand they have done so. I hope the 5th circuit grants their request.

I read the transcript of Jeff Toubin's interview with Lou Dobbs yesterday and he said no transcripts, even after Freedom of Information Act requests, after all this time is "unusual."
