Nope I have not been in one. But I have prison guards in my family. Depending on what prison you are in they are all different....Take Allenwood which is a federal prison in Pa. Its like you posted. Yet Danbury is different depending on the area you are in. The old part is way different. Then you have a state prison like Rahway in NJ. Very old etc...... If these border agents aren't a threat then a place like Allenwood would seem to be more reasonable place for them IMO. Less violence etc , my cousin works there and his brother works in Danbury.
As far as your comment...I couldn't help but impugn your character as you did mine.
You are doing enough to your character then my little comment did. Have a nice night Rednesss. I am glad to have met you....~~Pandora~~

At least they weren't subjected to "diesel therapy". I was watching a documentary channel program called something like "Mad dog prosecutors" about Michael Zinn. He chronicled his first 30 days in federal custody. He was moved around just about every day for a month until he finally landed some place for good. He called it "diesel therapy".
My character is just fine. I refuse to swallow every morsel or rumor and innuendo that comes out every day on this subject. I also had a hard time believing the stories that Ramos and Compean put out at trial. Nice to meet you as well. Live long and prosper.
