A BRISBANE nightclub bouncer has been jailed for seven years for killing a drunken patron with a martial arts style "roundhouse" kick in the head. Frank Nigel David Hutchings, 30, of Boondall in Brisbane's north, was manning the door of the Colmslie Hotel in Morningside in the early hours of June 14, 2003 when he delivered the fatal kick to David John Coddington, 27, also of Brisbane.

The Brisbane Supreme Court heard the kick caused Mr Coddington to die of a brain haemorrhage.

During the course of the trial, the court was told Mr Coddington had been heavily intoxicated and that Hutchings had tried several times to get him to leave the premises.

Chuck demands tribute.

Sounds like my friend's brother. He was a huge martial arts enthusiast for the wrong reasons. He used to go to bars to bait people into fighting him by viciously insulting someone until they would push or hit him, and then he'd go Chuck Norris on them (he was careful to make sure they struck first). He eventually became a bouncer and about beat a harmless drunk to death one night. Got himself in a lot of trouble.
