The most important part of this story to me -- which the N&O reported but did not question as an issue -- is the fact that Sleasly did NOT announce this and he did NOT even make the comments in NC. The twit was doing Q&A after presenting to students at a law school in NY!!! He REFUSES to be accountable to his residents in NC, but chats away to future ambulance chasers without any concern ab his folks back home.

This is disgusting and outrageous! What the hell is wrong with this state that democrats get a free pass on everything. And they called Reagan teflon coated. I swear democrats in NC could start rounding up little boys to be sex slaves and our residents would do or say nothing.

There has been this rumor around about this speech at NYU since he gave it. I am not sure what part you think is BS:

1. I certainly believe that Hardin and corrupt Stephens who we saw in action on this case recommending Nifong.

2. I suspect that Nifong in his interview with Easley said something like I don't have any plans to run for DA. Nifong was a caretaker type and the type to bow and scrape around the governor and try to seem humble. Of course it turns out he has a huge ego and once in the seat he likely quickly changed his tune. Professor Johnson's analysis of this is spot on.

Once Nifong fired Black and she decided to run, he had to beat her at all costs.

3. I certainly believe it is probably Easley's worst appointment? Nifong has been a disaster for NC.

The good part of this is that the Governor has signaled Nifong is hung out to dry. This is a sign that the Govenor considers damage from whites not voting Dim after this more worrisome for the Dims of NC than blacks not voting. Nifong must feel very alone this morning.
