When it comes to issues such as urban planning, transportation, demographics, and other related issues, the conservative expert/go-to man is Wendell Cox.

He operates two websites, The Public Purpose and Demographia, which are cross linked and cross referenced.

The Public Purpose

Caution: these websites are not suitable for casual browsing and require a degree "study" to benefit.

It's funny you should ping me to this story again. The other day I had lunch with a customer and this very subject came up. He's very familiar to this concept and the money that it generates. Isn't it always about money? Our money.

Let me point you to the extensive US census data he has compiled. At Demographia, in the lefthand menu under Nations, click United States.

I like your thought about "someone else's Utopia on your dime". It really hits the nail on the head.

These may look like Monopoly houses, but they are part of a 10,000-unit housing project in Ixtapaluca, Mexico. The picture was shot from the air, and is real, or so says the helicopter pilot who took them. Still, it looks so surreal, you’d swear it was a digital rendering.

Don'tcha just love the socialists vision of your future?

If this doesn’t sound like a Communist plot, nothing does!

All what used to be pretty farmland on the outskirts of town is now paved over with houses and apartment complexes which look just like that picture! And though we’ve voted mass transit down twice, the mayor talks like it is a done deal!
