I just personally heard Michael talking on the radio, making light of this horse's injuries, and making fun of the female owner's speech and the motives for putting the horse down.
I am totally disgusted in Michael Savage. I fully expect that this is the last night I will ever be posting to a Savage thread. He showed his truest, classless colors tonight.
He had said that he was in a real bad mood, feeling very cynical all day, but that is no excuse for the way he was way over the line tonight. If I saw him now I would shove his sorry *ss up against a wall and call him out for his remarks.
I have closely followed the ups and downs of Barbaro ever since the initial injury. There are many excellent and caring people here at FR who have followed Barbaro's medical care very, very closely on dozens of threads over the months. Many of those people are horse experts and medical experts or both. They well know the nature of all the problems that Barbaro has had in trying to heal. It has been a gut wrenching number of months wathching these great medical people trying to save this strong willed horse.
Savage was totally ignorant tonight when he was making light of the horse's injuries, his stud possibilities, and the insurance question. If these owners were only interested in the insurance they would not have gone through all this dedicated care over these many months. To question motives here is just pathetic!
I don't want to go any further on this. Suffice it to say that Michael Savage showed himself to be an ignorant, uncouth pig tonight. He has a major problem, but we knew that already didn't we?
And I don't want to have a damn thing to do with him or these threads again, unless he gets educated on this story quickly, and then comes back on the radio in the next days and apologizes profusely!
Savage needs help. And he says he is an animal lover. Pathetic!

FR is a great site, but one of the bad characteristics of it is the intractability and the thin skin of folks on threads like Rush's, Hannity's, and now this one (to a lesser degree). It is truly amazing how the people on these specific talkshow host threads cannot deal graciuosly with the slightest criticism of their "hero".
Over the years, I had come to highly respect the KNOWLEDGE about various subjects that Michael had accumulated over the years. It was a great part of his "charm". So, for him to come across yesterday so ignorantly (literally) concerning the injuries over the past months of Barbaro was totally disgusting and very surprising and very disappointing.
Not only did he not even know how to pronounce Barbaro's name (no big deal), but he scoffed at the seriousness of the injuries. He even went so far as to deride the decision to put the horse down, and to wonder why horses often have to be put down when they break their legs. He acted like he had no idea of the science of matter.
He questioned the motives of the owners, owners who have been totally honorable and GOOD throughout these long painful months. The efforts by the medical team to try to save this great animal were heroic and beyond excellent.
If Michael is going to speak about a subject as heart-wrenching and serious as this, mock the injuries that he obviously knew NOTHING about, he should have done his homework or have the decency to shut his mouth.
More than anything he came off as just another loutish slug who feels he has to make fun of a tragedy. To me it was the worst behavior I ever heard from a talkshow host who I had respected. It was very disappointing to hear Michael talk like he did after liking him so much over the years because of his warm feelings for his own dog and other animals.
I do not respect him now, not at all.
For a man of his intelligence to do what he did just illustrated a very ugly side of his character.
If his people should read this thread, or if he gets the drift on how UGLY he spoke yesterday on the subject of Barbaro, then he comes back on the show this evening and apologized to his audience, that would be a step in the right direction.
But for now, he's just another sarcastic, caustic, and cruel loser like so many other smart-mouths in the media and all over our jaded and crass society.
Good for you.
Too bad it took this long for so many to see Weiner for what he is.
BTW, Weiner never apologizes.
If he changes his mind today, tonight you'll hear about what a wonderful horse Barbaro was, and how stellar the Jacksons are as owners, but not a word about how wrong he was yesterday.
I don't listen to him any more. I'm surprised, last time I heard him he seemed obsessed with his dog.

That is bizarre, I heard one lady say he could be like a three legged horse. She said if they didn't want the horse, they could have given it to me There are some real idiots lut there. I told her to look up laminitis.
