Dogs are animals and have animal instincts. They need to have those acknowledged and respected. They are not Disney cartoons. They are not The Lion King. You do not take dogs whose background you know nothing about, particularly big, powerful dogs like Rottweilers, and put them around your small children. It is just stupidity and now a little boy has paid the ultimate, terrifying and bloody price. The man ought to be charged with negligence. He is an utter fool and the damage he has caused is irreparable.

You do not take dogs whose background you know nothing about, particularly big, powerful dogs like Rottweilers, and put them around your small children.

Sadly I think this guy thought he had things under control. I know from having large breed dogs that I wouldn't let some people with small children buy my pups when I was breeding....Some people can take too much upon themselves when taking in strays or abandoned dogs. I think they mean well but unless you have the right setup with kennels etc it can be too much to handle. You make a good point about not knowing a dog's background....This little boy dying is so sad. It is something that Father is going to have to live with forever. Very sad story...Prayers for the little boy and the family. ~~P~~
