Van Halen and The Police are most intriguing. A real Genesis reunion would include Gabriel and Hackett...and that ain't happening anytime soon.

I have seen NIN in concert several times and while Tent Reznor is as left wing as they come he is also a very talented musician who puts on an amazing stage show. Very few of his songs have political messages and even then they are very subtle and he almost never says any thing more than a thank you in between songs. I don't expect alcoholic and drug addicted rock stars to give sound political advice, but I do expect them to entertain me which is what I'm paying them for. After that they can do what ever they want with the money they have earned.

I understand your point of view--I've seen the Grateful Dead, the Stones, the Who, Kansas, Styx, Boston, J. Geils Band, George Thoroughgood and others--but that was BEFORE I committed to get my entertainment from somewhere that I would be GLAD about the trickle-down effect.

As much as I disagree with the message in their music, Rage is a magnificent band. Thankfully, Rage isn't Dixie Chick left, it's anti-establishment left or right ("More for Gore or the son of a drug lord? None of the above! F--- it! Cut the cord!") There aren't too many band-based guitar heroes like Tom Morello left on the scene, and his work was wasted in the relatively dreary songs of Audioslave.

I gotta wonder what in the world's going on in Eddie's life that he is reuniting with David Lee Roth again. Is he just itching to perform again, does he need some cash after his multiple medical crises (tongue cancer, hip replacement surgery), or did he just look at the Rolling Stones' dino-tour generate cases full of Krugerrands and decide, "I could do that!"? Has Roth agreed to be more mature this time around, or did he become an EMT so he could continue to abuse his body and then drive himself to the ER?

I don't know if it's a good thing Genesis is back. I've been a fan since the Abacab days, but thought they had pretty well played out the string. I am not hopeful that any new CD will be made of top-notch stuff. Their last CD, the Phil-free Calling All Stations...(which seemed to be a plea for radio play) was a total mess.

I'm a latecomer to the Roxy Music fan club. I'm just now learning how influential they were on the music of the eighties -- talk about ahead of their time! There probably would be no Duran Duran as we know it if Bryan Ferry had never existed.

Of all these groups, I would be most inclined to pay a pretty penny to see The Police perform. I get the feeling they agreed to reunite for the bucks, not because they've learned to live with each other. If I wasn't sure the Eagles wouldn't be back, I'd have to reconsider that, but it looks like they've found their second wind.

That's fine for most of us....but put a senior citizen band on the stage...(plus paying lots of money)...and you get less than you bargained for....trust me!

I surprised my husband with tickets for the Moody Blues....

..a HUGE disappointment...

..they had backup folks for their vocals, instruments, drums, etc....

..and when they tried to hit the high notes.....(it was sad)

Saw an aging Arlo Guthrie at EPCOT.....EPCOT for goodness sakes...playing a gig...

Better to leave it to your memories.....you can't go home again.
