It's quotes weekend! What are your favorite quotes? Some of my favorites:
"I see America, not in the setting sun of a black night of despair ahead of us, I see America in the crimson light of a rising sun fresh from the burning, creative hand of God. I see great days ahead, great days possible to men and women of will and vision." --Carl Sandburg
"It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them." --Mark Twain
"Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love." --Jane Austen
Busy with wedding stuff this weekend.
Very cute, Dolly!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Iron Man Competition! (post #137)
lol!
I am a sci fi addict also.. matrix, star wars, star trek, LOTR, .. loved a movie called Howls Moving House (title similar).. annimated but with some interesting twists.
Cool. I like those plus Battlestar Galactica (though not as much as season 2) and various novels (one of my favorites being the novel Starship Troopers and a similar book called 'Armor').
I'm a sci-fi/fantasy nut too. Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, BIG Doctor Who fan. I'm not really into sci-fi novels, but I do love sci-fi movies and tv shows.
I think the only sci-fi novels I ever read were LOTR (which I read about 25 years ago) and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (which I read about 20 years ago).
I never saw it yet. Perhaps I should.
Did you see Space Above and Beyond (S:AAB)? That was my favorite sci-fi show of all. Battlestar Galactica comes close, but I like the more solid military theme of S:AAB.
"hurrah.. the sun is out (misleading as it is still brutally cold)"
LOL the sun is out here too but there is still frost on the ground.
we have about 13 inches.. about 5 fell atop what we had.. we had a lot more but some of it melted last week.
off to walk dogs with my gal pal patty
I watched the first part of this video and got some figures I had forgot
Years ago, I took a Church Youth Group to Great America, and the kids kept trying to get me to go on the rides with them
I sat on a bench on a grassy area and told them:
I'm sitting here on this bench and it and the Earth are spinning at 900 miles per hour, and going around the sun at 19 miles per second. That's enough of a ride for me.
That was good enough for them, but they did kinda shake their heads a little...
LOL, I am glad to get the right figures back!
I live 15 minutes from Great America! Haven't been there in a couple years though.
I take it you are not a roller coaster fanatic? :P
