I've taken a lot at her selections every now and then. Some I wouldn't read, but most are critically acclaimed books...even if "acclaimed" by a bunch of liberals. LOL

Personally, I think her book club is one of the better things she's done. Bringing literature to a bunch of moms who haven't read a decent book in years isn't a bad thing.

I would imagine that S. P. has a story to tell. Parts of it should be worth reading. I loved him in Lilies of the Field.

Further proof that this very powerful woman is a certifiable nutcase. Oprah just took some flak for building a 40 million dollar school in Africa. There are 157 students, all girls;no boys allowed. There is one white female according to two stories I've read. The school has a meditation room and a spa. Oprah stated that she wanted these girls to "know beauty". It's her money, but for that much, she could have built a trade school and taught 2,157 girls and boys. Her reason for not helping black American students is that she is disillusioned by them. They want sneakers and video games.
And so, Oprah judged the American black boys and girls. They failed to meet her standards of gratitude.

No meditation room or spa for them. American black kids don't get the beauty from Oprah.
