If you were to live outside of the US, what country would you pick to be an ex-pat in? Why?
My intent was toward anyone who would move there. I have seen the country from Rehoboth, where everyone has the same last name (Mouton) as my Cajun relatives, to Windhoek, Tsumeb, and Combat Mine in the Triangle of Death. I visited the Namib, Etosha and some dinosaur footprints somewhere between Etosha and Windhoek. I missed the Okavango which is one of the few places I have ever wanted to go, but have not made.
I like the country, but unless you farm or hunt or are a photographer, I think you would be quickly board.
If you can pay for it, the health care is still excellent. When I moved my family there in the 80's my wife was very worried about our two small children until I pointed out that the world's first heart transplant was done in Cape Town.
1-TEXAS (hey the moonbats say its a foreign country)
2- Cayman Islands- taxfree paradise
3- Australia- putting a steak on da barbee
4- Beleize- (sp?)
5-Aruba- peaceful paradise
6- Bermuda
The private healthcare system in SA is still one of the best in the world. It is the AIDS-infested and corrupt public health-care system that is practically worthless.
You are right. We agree that it is an unspoilt and open country, suitable for those who don't want to live in big cities?
Wow, those are some beautiful places, although Rehoboth can be a bit dusty. Okavango, and that whole eastern bush area is amazing.
There is a bit of industry there, but the economy is pretty small.
ISRAEL -- Being Jewish, this is an obvious choice.
2nd choice -- Australia.
3rd choice -- arm myself and start my own country.
