A few years ago, driving out here to the desert from our (then) home, I nailed one at 75 as it tried to cross Interstate 10 in front of me....it was 10pm, so I had no reaction time - just felt the thumpety thump as it went underneath the car.

I was more than glad it was sprinting at a low angle, because if I'd have caught it at high stride it might have gone thru the windshield.

Big "whew"...

Next morning, come daylight, I checked - no harm, no foul; we'd met smack middle on the bumper - no dents, just a bunch of greyish fur all along the undercarriage of the Camry.

I never hit a coyote with my car. I've hit sparrows, pigeons, egrets, dove, quail, rabbits, lizards, snakes, dogs, and cats, but no coyotes...yet.
