A homeowner burned his house down and wrote racial slurs throughout it to collect insurance money, officials told KPRC Local 2 Wednesday.
Harris County arson investigators said Samuel White has been charged with first-degree felony arson in connection with fire at a house in the 13900 block of Elm Park Court in October 2005.
Investigators said White had rented the home to a black family that moved out shortly before the fire.

I assume the black family wasn't aware of what this guy was going to do? In that case, he didn't stage it, he did it.
You just can't make this stuff up.
If there's to be "hate crimes",
There also needs to be extra penalties for falsely claiming one
A large percentage of "hate" crimes are in fact staged.
After all, there simply aren't a lot of vengeful people in America today going around attacking someone simply for belonging to another race.
That occurs far more frequently in other countries, but rarely in the US where ALL peoples have an opportunity to become rich.
It is always fun to watch liberals get all excited about the latest example of a hate crime only for it to be a hoax.
Samuel White.
"Oh man. I screwed up!"
IIRC, Dateline NBC tried to "stage" a hate crime at a NASCAR rally by having some hard core Muslims walk through the crowds. The real story was the leaked memo written by one of the female producers, something to the effect that, the more offensive the Muslim, the better. The White Males at NASCAR did not take the bait. The story evaporated.
Does anyone know if this segment ever aired?
I'm sure this guy would have used the insurance money to pay off the banks (snicker).
