Were both arms amputated and replaced with scary stuff, or how do you explain the photo you posted?

The more you look at her arms and hands, the scarier it gets.

she has had a fair amount of reconstructive surgery is about all I might attribute the appearance to. she sustained some pretty severe injuries.

I'd guess she posed with any scars on her arms away from the camera, or the resolution of the camera can't pick them up.

Negative. She had some serious injuries, but no amputations. I remember after her rescue and surgeries, there were pictures of her on crutches.

There's nothing wrong with her arms or hands. The shot is close and low, with a wide angle lens at an up angle. That distorts things a bit.

I'd say no. I looks like the photographer stood too close to her to take the shot, so that the lens made the arms look disproportionately large.

It's the camera angle, look at the building behind her. The bottom of the building is bigger than the top. It's called foreshortening when an artist does it.
