A REAL dog DOES weigh 85 pounds, is loving and attentive and has a stump.

Saw a GSD/Poodle cross. Lovely temperment, very smart and the hair was amazing. Didn't look like either one.
$1000 for one is for morons, of course.
Oh yeah, they don't shed.

You can get an unregistered one for about $300-400. AKC registration can be easily scammed. It doesn't "prove" the dog is purebred. Just familiarize yourself with what the breed is supposed to look like as well as other characteristics. You can get them for less than a lot of people think.
