Here is another useless tidbit of information to tide you over till Thursday.
It seems that last week’s Reward Challenge was originally scheduled to be the “Visit from Loved Ones” challenge. However due to the political unrest in Fiji at the time it was changed to what we saw.
The “original deadline” for the resignation of the Prime Minister coincided with the travel dates for the friends/family members. Not wanting to place any additional people in danger, Mark Burnett Productions decided to cancel the Loved Ones visit, opting instead for simple “letters from home.” This makes only the second season of Survivor where there was no actual visit from loved ones. Survivor: Africa held the “loved ones” challenge via satellite, but none actually traveled to Africa.
During the final days of filming, “the coup in Fiji” took place and the cast and crew beat a hasty retreat after the final Tribal Council!
