I like to karaoke Touch Me. I was never impressed with his voice and thought that song was the goofiest of all. I remember when it was first released. I actually commented to my friend that it sounded like a nerd (although I don't know that that is the word we used back then) trying to sound cool, and missing the mark.
But art is subjective.

Touch Me struck me as a song trying to crossover into AM middle of the road music. Not quite the same Tijuana Brass sound that Lee Hazlewood used on These Boots Are Made For Walking (for Nancy Sinatra) but still something geared for middle America.
