We just picked up a beautiful black Lab puppy (9 weeks old as I write this) last weekend. He is devilishly handsome and too smart for his own good right now - hopefully the brain power will serve him well when he has the capacity to use it responsiby (the same descriptoin and hopes apply to my 2 human kids :)). He has a hunting dog's pedigree and is a purebreed, and I am reluctantly considering the neutering option for him when the time comes. Any suggestions from experienced dog owners would be greatly appreciated.
ROTFL. Good luck to ya.
Hide your shoes. They'll end up all over the house.
Congrats. I have a Golden Retriever and she is the worlds most spoiled dog.
Labs like beer. Cheap beer is fine. Hamms, specifically.
With my human kids or the dog? :)
No, I'm not kidding.
Oh, the dog. Your life as you knew it is completely over.
Black Lab puppy ping!
Congrats! Are you going to use him for hunting?
He should have you well trained in a month or two.
Best of luck!
I am on my sixth Lab, all black before , this one is chocolate. As in my previous experiences, I adore them, they adore me. Love is everywhere!
I thought all of mine were smart too, at the start.
They are dumber than a box of rocks.
Highly adorable and wonderful with kids.
This one has been to boot camp twice, she's five. Still doesn't respond to " Come ".
God bless your heart and soul!
Enjoy!
Congratulations and good luck.
Crate training is your friend.
Invest heavily in pig ears, it may save your furniture.
Walk early and often, tired puppy is a good puppy.
Be the boss.
No, no plans to hunt, although I am hoping he can scare away the deer from my property when he gets some size on him.
Pictures, please!
ROTFLMAO. You haven't even scratched the surface yet. This guy is screwed.
Walk that dog four to five miles a day until he's three.
Crate train him from the word go. Get one large enough for him to grow into. Never leave him loose in the house unattended, and your shoe supply or chair rungs will not suffer. Remember, this is a dog, not a human being. And many happy years to all of you.
OMG, I am dying here. LOL
