I think Bears and the Chargirls are going to win. I am getting sick of hearing about how we should bow to the likes of Brady and Belichick, especually when their first Super Bowl win was made possible by the "tuck" rule BS.

Just blame it on the cat (if you have one) walking across the keyboard :)

The tuck rule is a rule in American professional football, currently used only by the National Football League (NFL).

Ordinarily, if the quarterback drops or loses the football while he is bringing the ball forward in a passing motion, and the ball touches the ground, it is considered an incomplete pass. If the quarterback drops or loses the football at any other time, it is considered a fumble, as if any other player had dropped it.

The tuck rule is an exception to this rule. It applies if the quarterback brings his arm forward in a passing motion, but then changes his mind and tries to keep hold of the football rather than making a pass. In this situation, if the quarterback loses the ball while stopping his passing motion or bringing the ball back to his body, it is still considered a forward pass (and thus an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground), even if the ball is moving backwards at the time the quarterback loses it.[1]

It is a BS rule, like all the others that protect the quarterback, like if he is outside the tackles he can ground the ball. Jack Lambert, a great linebacker with the Steelers, said why don't you just put skirts on quarterbacks. lol

Same goes for the last name Crapper, of course we all know John Crapper invented the toilet so we decided to honor him by using both John and Crapper to describe his invention. lol

Jack White of the White Stripes took Meg White's last name when they married, and I think general weirdness was his only reason.

Liberals are always coming up with new ways to go against traditional values. It's the "I want to be different" syndrome.

Yes, I read it when I posted it.

He can't get it changed because California law is prohibiting it. That still doesn't negate the fact that it's wussy of this "man" to have wanted to change it in the first place.

Wow, I know plenty of guys that have changed their names, never to the wife's maiden. Extremely wussy thing to do.

I wasn't implying that you had not read the article, but that the others on the thread might have not. The gentleman seems to have a very legitmate reason to take his wifes name. Trust me, if you post it, I'll assume you read it. LOL.

It's not that he can't legally change his name, but the article states that he doesn't want to take the time to fill out the paperwork or pay the fee, like other people have.

Some people want everything handed to them, and they don't feel like the rules apply to them. This is a case of narcissism and laziness rolled into one.

He's fighting it because in California, women who get married don't have to pay a fee to change their last name, they don't have to put out advertisements first and they don't have to go to court. All they have to do is present a valid marriage license and their name is changed. He wants the same right.
