Is it possible she is hanging on to her claims by a mere thread, and that she's trying to change her story to fit some kind of scenario that SOMETHING happened there, so that she hopes to be paid off by the boys' families whether the criminal case is dropped or not?? In other words to keep hope alive for a civil trial but one that never happens because she backs out of THAT for money?? Mind you, I'm not saying the families would ever give her a dime.
Who knows what she's thinking. Your theory is as plausible as anybody's.
Especially since we don't know who her "handlers" are.
I can't imagine these people would scrape gum off their shoe for her.
But absolutely she's trying to keep it alive in the hopes of getting "paid". She can keep hoping. It's about all she's getting.
