Thanks. Let's say I do burn both the presentation AND the sound file on the same CD. Second question: MUST both files be in the same folder at the time I burn the CD? For example, can I have my presentation in diretory A, then insert sound file from directory B, then burn both files on the same CD (pulling them from the two different directories)? Will PowerPoint on the CD get confused when it tries to look in the "other directory" for the sound file? Thanks.

On the CD, the files will be side-by-each, wherever they came from originally. The powerpoint presentation includes text and image files, and an embedded 'pointer' towards the sound files, which will be readily found on the CD. Should work just fine. Try it on a computer other than your own to be sure.

1. Embedding the sounds/video/graphics into PP will make file really big. But you do not get those annoying X's in the middle of your presentation with the big boss. But the file may be real slow loading and running. Experiment. Use the actual system you will use for the presentation if possible (computer AND projector AND sound system, prior planning AND practice prevents piss poor performance).

2. If you leave the files as links. ALL of the files must be transfered to the media you will move the PP on. N.B.: You will also have to go back and change the folder reference in the links for all these files to wherever you put them. GIGO.

Remember, the purpose of PP is to impart information in a visual format. If the sounds/graphics/video/etc. are not NECESSARY to the presentation, your wasting your time and the audience's.

No bastard ever won a war by making power point slides for his country, he won it by making the other poor dumb bastard make slide for HIS country.
