Just a rotten case: As the prosecution of Duke's lacrosse players unravels,
The Plain Dealer ^ | 1/7/07

Then, just last month, the director of a DNA laboratory that tested samples taken from the woman testified that he and the prosecutor had agreed in May to withhold some of the findings. The exculpatory nature of the results - specifically, that the swabs included traces of semen from several men, none of them the Duke defendants - offer the strongest evidence yet that the prosecutor himself should be the subject of an investigation, and that he should have no further connection with this case.

That was a beautiful tribute by Carolina to Denita. I was right there, while reading.

I haven't really seen too much on this at all. Am I the only person who thinks Smith's murder was a hit job, because she knew too much about the Duke accuser?

Good grief. Ol' Cornelius will be doing somersaults in his grave knowing that the university he founded hired a commie racist like Baker!

I doubt that there's a connection. Not impossible, though. A hit seems pretty draconian though, since Mangum really isn't looking at much punishment (although she should be) and the case is all but toast now anyway. Liefong is more the focus now, and Mangum doesn't have a whole lot more to lose.

Awesome, Howlin!!

This family is an amazing family to study as to the when and how of various organizations and institutes in America.

I'm at moment at William Henry Vanderbilt (1821-1885). Opening para for William:

William H. Vanderbilt (May 8, 1821 – December 8, 1885) was a businessman and a member of the prominent United States Vanderbilt family. he cheated on his wife

But what's vitally important about the man, given that last sentence... did he smoke tobacco too? (sheez...)

No, kidding, Jezebelle! And for emphasis about the type of founding upon individual and personal property rights:

Dig this, on William Vanderbilt:

William Henry Vanderbilt is perhaps most remembered for snapping "the public be damned" at an interviewer..in context, an irritated reaction to the other's suggestion that the New York Central Railroad system, which Vanderbilt controlled, ought to be operated as if it were a public trust.

Vandebuilt [sic] is also known as the grandfather of the superhighway. His ill-fated South Penn Railroad lead to the creation of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the 1930's and 1940's. Most of Vandebuilt's right-of-way and tunnels were used in creation of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

I can only imagine what response William would have had to Baker's letter regarding the Duke La Crosse Players. In re the hiring of Baker at Vanderbilt U? Ole' Henry would have been on the receiving end of the usual stupid liberal response: You aren't hiring me JUST because you are a .. drumroll here... RACIST!

In summary, I think the case can be made that those using the word racist as an perjorative, are also communists with little to no respect for individual nor property rights.

Per FNC: Brodhead has issued ANOTHER call for Nifong to recuse himself. As usual, Nifong was out of the office and could not be reached for comment.

No. I just hope we're both wrong. Just a gut feeling that she was an intended target. I hope it's not related to this case. That would put her blood on Nifong's hands. He's done enough damage as it is. Maybe it's related to the boyfriend/jealous female type thing. Either way she's still dead. But I don't want it to be because of this ridiculous hoax of a case.

I hope not. The only thing is prostitutes are often tied to gangs. If this case goes down the way it looks like it will, that means no money for Crystal.
