Then, just last month, the director of a DNA laboratory that tested samples taken from the woman testified that he and the prosecutor had agreed in May to withhold some of the findings. The exculpatory nature of the results - specifically, that the swabs included traces of semen from several men, none of them the Duke defendants - offer the strongest evidence yet that the prosecutor himself should be the subject of an investigation, and that he should have no further connection with this case.

Great article by Ham.
Thanks for the heads up, abb. I'll set the VCR because I just refuse to watch the rest of H&C waiting for this interview.
Thanks for the heads up!
abb, you do a wonderful job with this. I appreciate it very much. :)

Campus Echo article about Denita Smith
VCR? What is that? LOL!
I second that emotion!
I just saw this over at Liestoppers:
http://www.nccu.edu/campus/echo/sp-smith.html
The article says Denita Smith was engaged to marry Jermeir Stroud, an NCCU alumnus and a police officer in Greensboro.
I googled Jermier Stroud and found this:
http://www.nccu.edu/campus/echo/archive6-0102/c-sharpton.html
which includes this last paragraph:
After Sharptons speech, Stephanie Jackson, SGA President, and Jermeir Stroud, president of the NCCU chapter of the NAACP, gave him an NCCU sweatshirt and a certificate naming him an honorary Eagle.
Heh! I'm showing my age :-)
There is a reason that the dinosaur media are referred to as the "Ivory Tower". The journalists have no clue as to how the entire country knew the facts before they did. Melanie said herself that she didn't understand why this Duke case was so popular nationwide. WTF?
I couldn't resist. My apologies... Once I got a TiVO, the VCR became a dust catcher.
Oh my brother LOVES his TiVo and rubs it in at every opportunity. LOL.
Speaking of televisions, my parents just got a 42" HDTV with the most gorgeous picture. My husband is salivating.
THAT is most interesting.
Thanks for the info.
Convince him to wait til later this year. Samsung is showing the newest technology at the Consumer Electronics show this week in Las Vegas. It is a new LCD TV using the new LED light source, which now have a permanent lifetime. No lamp replacements. There is also a Laser light source DLP system.
We're going to wait one year or maybe two because the technology is changing so quickly.
I'll show my husband your post because I "didn't get it". But he will :-)
Also, we're in a small market and the cable company here doesn't show many programs in HD yet but within 1.5-2 years they will be legislatively required to do so. That's our understanding anyway.
My parents got Dish because they show so many things in HD. It's extraordinary how three dimensional the picture is.
Mr. and Mrs. Baker members of the gang of 88. So Duke only has 86 of them at most now.
It would be good if someone kept a running score card on the number of signees who have left Duke. The more that leave Duke the better. As I said on an earlier post, I would not necessarily believe all should be hounded out of Duke or at their new positions, but I believe sometimes when we screw up at one place, it is best to start anew at another. That is provided we learn something from our mistake.
This will be the year of the price drops, and the new technology that I mentioned it. Last half of the year. Hang in there...
Will do; thanks for that information, Tommy.
I'm also buying Texas Instruments stock. Laser DLP promises to be the ultimate TV picture.
I am writing your name down in my freeper list of "who knows what". LOL
When the time comes, I may have some questions. You've been really helpful. Thank you.
There should have been a are in that first sentence. [See what I mean about me treating this as conversation.] It should have said:
Mr. and Mrs. Baker ARE members of the gang of 88. So Duke only has 86 of them at most now.
