For awhile there, you could follow that trail in the dark from the oxen bones glowing as they decomposed.
Someone in the 20's or 30's built a fence on his property from all the old rifles found discarded in the 40 mile Desert. It really is a horrible place, I can't imagine riding a horse through there, let along pulling a wagon. We had trouble getting a Land Rover up one of the hills. The ATV I was riding stopped about 3/4 the way up and my son had to come and get it, go to the bottom and start over.
