To: HairOfTheDog; FrogInABlender
LOL...Last night when I went out to feed, I kid you not, Grizzly was carrying around the back half of a rabbit:) the tail and back legs:) Could it be the same:)

I just walked about 2 blocks to the Chiense Restaurant. It was a little windy. Coming back a gust came out of the north from nowhere. I could hardly walk. Dust and trash was flying everywhere. I had to put my nose and mouth inside my shirt. I thought about yalls storms. I looked around and the skies looked ok. Just breezy now. Weird.

I can't take the drama ;~)

Here's the scene this morning in WA, where it can't decide what season to be.

Bein' adorable is what's got her where she is today...
To: HairOfTheDog
I love that pic of Pony and you. It's a keeper!
I'm doin' some riding on Saturday. I can't wait!

Tornado watch all day here today.
Some pretty heavy thunderstorms but no freight train noises so far . . . < knock on wood >
Oddly enough, yesterday was simply beautiful - mild temps and sunny skies. Had a great riding lesson -- Miss Cathy set up a grid with five trot poles in, a one stride in-and-out, and then at her command a bend left to a three stride or right to a four stride. If the four-stride was successfully negotiated, you got to take a sharp 90 degree left turn and three strides to an oil-barrel oxer that was nearly 3 feet.
THAT pretty much separated the sheep from the goats (Gracie of course is a champ and did exactly as asked, although she HATES trot poles almost as much as I do). My son has grown so much he has a new ride, Harley, a big Appendix gelding . . . his feet would be dragging on Hershey the App pony. Harley is a handsome devil, a bit strong, but the boy has him under control.
I need to take a camera to the barn . . .

Sounds like a great ride!
I need to start taking a camera to the barn too. I especially want pictures of me riding, because, why not? but I can never wrangle someone into going with me. I could ask my trainer, but I feel a little funny about it.
To: AnAmericanMother
I would love to see a picture of Harley. When you say that you had to bend to the left at her command, do you mean that she picked the point to ask you to do it. I've never had a trainer do that. in an gymnastics exercise like that.

...I need to take a camera to the barn . . . Ah, YEAH!

...I can never wrangle someone into going with me... Surely there's SOMEBODY else hanging about the barn that you could shove a camera into their hands and say "Take my picture!" I do that to people all the time and they don't seem to mind TOO much. I'm sure they think I'm crazy, but that's a given. ;o)

When the horse reaches the second element of the in-and-out, she shouts "LEFT!" or "RIGHT!". Makes you keep your horse straight 'cause you don't know which way you'll have to go next . . . . with 3 and 4 strides, you really have one stride to get your act together, but what it teaches you to do is LOOK for your fence first. The horse follows your eyes, if you have him in hand and on the bit!

I don't know Beaker. The only way I know if I'm in a tornado warning if if I see it on FR or have the tv on. I've been bliss to several.

I know everybody's already said it, but that pic of you and Pony is just SO cute. She's got that ShyLittleGirl look on her face, like she's just the most innocent thing in the world, even though we all know better. Ecurbh, you did a good job getting that one!
It's good to see your face again too. Sometimes we concentrate so much on getting good pictures of our horses that we forget to get one of the person behind the camera occasionally too.

Yeah - I figure once in awhile, I better get some pictures of me, much as I hate it. :~)
To: ecurbh
I love you honey!
But the shot you missed was better ;~)
To: HairOfTheDog; ecurbh
AAAHHH, there'll always be The One That Got Away. Such is the life of a Photographer. If it was much better than that one then it must've really been grand.
