I can't believe she actually took a tranquilizer. And I REALLY can't believe she that she actually still plans to ride. The tranquilizer is bound to have some effect on her motor skills. That'd be like trying to drive while tranquilized. It's just insane! But maybe it's some kind of tranquilizer that doesn't do that, I don't know, but the woman has some SERIOUS problems. I feel sorry for her and I hate it for you that you're getting balled up in it.

LOL...Don't feel sorry for me, because I'm pretty much done with her, as far as riding...I just don't want to babysit anymore, and I'm not going to. If she comes, she's going to ride my ride...I'm going to stop modifying my riding to fit her. It's time for her to advance or give it up.

This was not the free mine, the program was filmed at, but it gives you an idea what Sunstones are.

Since I couldn't ride, I had more time and managed to get one side of my garden turned over and rakes out.

The pansies already look better after their Miracle Grow this morning, and being aerated

Yep, awake and at work. Bob drove me in today, solid ice. But the mechanic said my car is done, we can pick it up this afternoon. :)

There is no shame in admitting you can't do something. And besides how can anyone enjoy something they are that afraid of...

I am not condoning this ladies behaviour, but I totally understand where she is coming from. Before I got Blade I was thrown from a horse and broke 3 ribs. Everytime before a ride I would get sick to my stomach with nerves but I went. I was looking for the same behaviours in Balde that the mare did thinking that "ok, he is dropping his head so he is going to buck". The more trail hours I spend on Blade, learning his habits, his body language, his head carriage and learning to trust him the more the anxiety eased. Most of the time I was reading things into his movements that were not there. I was in a comfort zone by going with my husband cause he would ride (most of the time) in a fashion I was comfortable with. I am now venturing out without him and riding with Frog (which can be an adventure in itself!) She just needs to face her fears and just do it. Time does help but not if you don't get back on that horse!

Lookee what I did today. Tuffy is always lame so I'm working with Bud. Today was the first time I've ridden him in about 3 years or more.

HEY! Good for you! And him.... How'd he do? He's such a tank.

He is big and wide, which makes him plenty uncomfortable to ride. I'll be sore tomorrow, for sure.

He did ok. No bucking or anything stupid. He's sluggish on his aids but that's to be expected.

I understand her fear too...I've been there done that...But in the 2 years I've been riding with her, the horse she had first never did anything....nothing...he was great...she has also bought 3 horses and tried them, and one several people including myself told her it would not work, but she went ahead.

I've told her numerous times, her horse is fine, and that if she would just ride more consistently she would feel better...she rides one time then it's a month before I see her again. Different horses are not the answer, she has been told that by others besides me.

I've come to the conclusion the "others" have all worn thin with her too, and that's why she's been calling me to ride. I don't mean to be unkind, but it's time for her to "listen" to others and not just to her mind building up boogies that aren't there.

Sounds to me like you DID it, good for you. She just talks about it, and todays episode, her wanting me to wait in case she got over it was just too much for my patience.

Thanks! He did ok, considering he hasn't been ridden in years. I'm still alive and in one piece so I can't complain.
Tuffy has an abscess in his front left and back right. The front left, I don't know what happened. The back right, he jerked his foot away from the farrier when he had the shoe half way off and set down on a nail. I cleaned it and bandaged it but he still got an abscess.

If someone asked me to wait to ride, to see if she felt like it in an hour, I'd tell her to go jump in a lake.

I agree with you 100%. Worrying about it just makes the anxiety more intense. She is letting her fear control her life.

Nice horse. Nice hair. I wish I could get mine looking like that. I'm about ready to chop this pony tail off.

I'm there on the color but I'm lazy. It's much easier just to but it in a band and be done with it. :')
