Hey that sounds great:) Congratulations!!!!
Becky
The mares look great:). You did a very good thing.
Becky
Very nice:), I like it.
I finally got my bedroom painted. Today I put everything back together, except for the curtains, which I'll pick up later. This has been a nightmare:)
Becky
I know what you mean, 36 felt good here too the other day, now it's back to feeling cold since we've been in the 40's by afternoon.
Becky
LOL...it does match his eyes:), how cool.
Becky
We have rain in our forecast again for this weekend. We really needed the moisture around here, but the mud is just terrible now by afternoons.
I had to run down to Kristy's yesterday, she had a gallon of primer she was not going to use, and I felt I needed some more on the walls before I painted. Anyway, I got stuck in their driveway. I was going down it, and thought I should stay out of the ruts that were in it, but I guess I got over too far and the truck just slide down into the drainage ditch. Funny sensation to be going sidewise even when you're stopped. Luckily Charlie was in town, and borrowed Jenny's Tahoe which is 4 wheel drive and came and pulled me right out. Sure wasted alot of my day tho:\
Just walking to the house and back to the truck we were sinking in this sticky, slippery mud...and now rain is coming.
Becky
I think that horse would have climbed up in that truck:)
Wow! that is a lot of branches. Are these all from just your yard, or from the back 40 and paddock area too? Just wondering if you spread a layer of them out where you have the mud problem if they would make the footing more stable? I'd think they would sink down and disappear but still might help keeping the moguls from happening so bad?
Becky
We are getting quite a bit of snow this morning. The light, steady, all day kind, that accumulates for many inches!
Good morning:)
I think I've caught up now...if I haven't responded appropriate to any posts, forgive me:)
My farrier is suppose to come today or tomorrow, I hope tomorrow, I still have a lot to do today, and really want to get finished.
Becky
I'm afraid we're getting similar weather. Yuck!!! But we've been really lucky up until now.
Oh forgot this one:)
Just an FYI about getting hard to pull on boots on. I learned this trick when Mack and I were in Sturgis and I was buying new boots from a Harley store. It's good to use when breaking in new boots, or if your boots are just hard to get on, and is especially good in the winter to do.
Put your foot inside like a Walmart plastic shopping bag, and your foot will slip right in, and the bags are so think you don't feel anything at all, even the extra around the top. The guy at the shoe store had me do this when I was trying boots on and it made it sooooo easy, I still do it with the boots I got there sometime.
Becky
Your cabin would not be a long drive for me. Akron is about an hour away. There are lots of other places we could go too. I just hope we have better weather this year. A little less rain would be a good thing.
LOL....is that really Aiken? I love those trees:)
That would be so much fun to have a buggy horse.
Becky
Oh Estrogen, that sounds wonderful. I wish there was something like that around here.
I am anxious to hear what the farrier says about the angle and sore shoulder.
Yuk
Me too. Harley has now been without the shoe on the sore shoulder side for about a week, I'm hoping he hasn't wore the foot off so much it can't be fixed right.
Becky
A lot of the people in the driving club are my age (early 60's) so it should be fun....the roads are clay in certain areas and horses have the right of way. It really is a charming town.
Check out post #1480, Estrogen said we could meet at her cabin and ride there. We used to ride in the State Gamelands near Franklin, PA, but I heard they wanted to close it to horseback riding.
