My power company sees fit to provide power here at the house most of the time. A year or so ago, if I lost power or even a brief flicker, I had about a 30% chance of losing the WU in progress.

My UPS has saved my butt six times so far according to the software.

I probably should consider UPS(s). My power goes out a few minutes at a time once a month or more. And roughly once or twice every 6 months, it will be out an hour or two.

Recently, I've had very few incidents of losing WU's, but yesterday the power was out for a few minutes and the backup file on one machine was corrupted. With my backup system I was able to restore the file in a few minutes. Probably saved about 40 hours of Folding.

Don't feel bad my power went out because of an ice storm and was out for a week. Talk about playing hob with your standing on top 20. Not to mention my lifestyle.
