The season for Santa Ana winds has been unusually busy and slow to end. Yet another outburst of the strong, dry winds is in the offing and it will start late on New Year's Day. High pressure building over the Inter Mountain together with north-to-south winds over Southern California will crank up strong Santa Ana winds Monday late afternoon or evening. The strong, fitful winds will then last through the day Tuesday. Through the wind-prone passes and canyons, wind gusts will reach 50 to perhaps 70 mph.

ORANGE COUNTY AND 6 TO 8 FEET WITH SETS TO 10 FEET WILL OCCUR

IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO FISH OR OBSERVE WAVES FROM EXPOSED
COASTAL STRUCTURES OR ROCKS DURING HIGH SURF CONDITIONS. VERY
LARGE WAVES CAN SUDDENLY SWEEP ACROSS PREVIOUSLY DRY AREAS.
SWIMMING OR SURFING IN THESE WAVES MAY BE DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE
BECAUSE OF THE POWERFUL WAVES AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.
WHITLOW
fyi
But of course! The pool was just cleaned.
*sigh*
Well Happy New Year ....take tomorrow off!
Watch some Football!
The Chiefs made the playoffs....YEAH!
Oh no, more of the Migraine Winds? So much for the old happy new year!
I have a mission, Ernest!
Me and Grampseroonie are cleaning the garage. Wanna help?
:)
Claritan is your (my!!!!!!) friend!
Happy New Year, Yaelle!!
Sounds like work....I am reworking some computer equipment....this time I will get it right!
I was using some of that Claritan...to try and clear up a clogged ear after a bout with a cold...and it drove up some readings with the liver...going in Tuesday for another round of Lab tests....
WHAT????
THAT'S not good!!!! I take that stuff during the winds. Not these cold ones, but the hot winds.
I'll pray for ya!!
If my experience is a guide, you'll have a "oh yeah, it was supposed to be windy" kind of day. That's what we had today, and we usually precede you by 24 hours.
Claritin affects liver function? I didn't know that!
Looks like its coming right over North Texas. Wonder if
we'll get high surf here on the Red River, too..
That sounds awful, Ernest. Liver function is very important.
Hopefully your doctor will give you the all clear.
Gehsundheit!
Here in San Diego I've been putting on chapstick for the last few days because of the dryness. Looks like I'd better buy another stick. Not much of a complaint when compared to somebody shoveling fallen snow away from their house because it's starting to tumble down the chimney.
For migraines, I use the prescription Frova, which has given me my life back. It's one of the triptan drugs. I hate to have to use a medication but at least it doesn't drug or fatigue and it really kicks the migraine in the butt if you take it soon enough. No wind here yet so far! Happy Jan 1!
You and your stupid winds.
Sheesh.
