Question: I really like this site and would like to find some way of giving back to it. The problem is that I'm a broke college student and really can't afford to donate. Anybody have any ideas on how I can give back?
thanks in advance, VA in New Orleans

Publicize your interest! With so many topics to choose from in every-day discourse, you can relate what you learned on FR, or how it lead you to further research... or just emphasize the friendliness of the site.
Good luck.

Why not just save up little by little? A coin jar cashed in might yield $20 or more. Others might have different ideas, but I'm sure that cash is really appreciated and most needed.

I give monthy because I can. Just hang in there with this website and give whenever you can down the road. I doubt that anyone expects people who are unable to contribute at the moment to do so. It'll be just fine.

Volunteer. You're probably conservative or you wouldn't be on FR. Do it through the YRs, YAF or local Republican Party.
If you played sports as a kid, you can volunteer to be an assistant coach for a soccer, baseball or softball team. Do something to support your faith - maybe working in a soup kitchen or at a parish/church hall. You can work with seniors or the handicapped.
There are plenty of opportunities. Try to pick something that will enable you to make a contribution, while having fun and continuing to grow.
Good luck!

YES...you can take the messages you read here...and share them with our fellow college students.
There is a lot of links to articles and books...plus threads that follow the House and Senate...and the truth needs to get to college age students.
I am afraid too many college professors are helping the "left" in this country even by the way they teach their classes.
Plus, you can let US know what the people your age are thinking, talking about things...so WE can be aware of changes we may need to make in getting a clearer messsage out.
Plus, I am sure your friends depend more on alt media than people my age...(my kids are in their 20's)..so, maybe you could get some of them to join FR..and share with us also.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Thank you so much for asking how you can help.

Participate in the discussions. What makes this site great is the people who hang out here. All the money in the world can't replace them. I second this suggestion. If you feel that this isn't enough, remember that even small amounts donated to FR are appreciated by Jim Robinson. It's not necessary to send a huge sum to contribute. There are a lot of FReepers, and even a small $5.00 contribution helps.

Get all your friends with a little change in their pockets addicted to the site and pretty soon they'll want, as you do, to support it.
I don't have a lot of $$ but there have been times when I've sent JimRob a check for a very small amount during FReepathons. Every bit counts.

When the quarterly FReepathons come around, give a little bit. Whatever you can. As long as everyone who likes and uses this place TRIES to contribute, there are enough here to cover the ones who are having a rough time.
Who knows; in 10 years you may be making enough to cover the young college students of that decade who need a little FR!

I am a High School student and can't afford to donate much either. But you can still help by bumping the donation threads so more people see it and perhaps those who can afford it will donate. You can also help just in discussions. When you participate, it adds content and insight into this website and ultimately improves its quality.
