Former Iraqi Dictator and Mass Murderer Saddam Hussein has been executed!
From My Way News:
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Saddam Hussein, the shotgun-waving dictator who ruled Iraq with a remorseless brutality for a quarter-century and was driven from power by a U.S.-led war that left his country in shambles, was taken to the gallows clutching a Quran and hanged Saturday. In Baghdads Shiite enclave of Sadr City, people danced in the streets while others fired guns in the air to celebrate the former dictators death. The government did not impose a round-the-clock curfew as it did last month when Saddam was convicted to thwart any surge in retaliatory violence.
It was a grim end for the 69-year-old leader who had vexed three U.S. presidents. Despite his ouster, Washington, its allies and the new Iraqi leaders remain mired in a fight to quell a stubborn insurgency by Saddam loyalists and a vicious sectarian conflict.
President Bush called Saddams execution the kind of justice he denied the victims of his brutal regime.
I look upon Saddams death as a double edged sword. On one hand he was a ruthless dictator who was responsible for the torture and death of millions of Iraqis, Iranians and Kurds. On the other hand, he was the only leader in the region that kept the radical Shiite fanatics of Iran under wraps. We have rid the region of one lunatic only to replace him with another
Ahamadinejad!

Mornin' Nancee,
That's what justice is all about.
It's "HANGED!"
I'm hung.
He Was Suspended...High off the ground at the end of a rope!
Ron White the comedian says in his state of Texas they are putting in an express lane while the rest of the states are pondering the thought of stopping the death penalty. I worked in Corrections for many years...Kill the Bastards, they only get worse in prison and it costs us to much damn money!
Thank you!! I do appreciate it!!
:-)
"That's what justice is all about."
AMEN!!!!
I wasn't in corrections, but I am a counselor by profession, and there is no "fixing" many of these characters! "Justice" is far too often not only delayed; it is denied!! And there is an astronomical waste of tax dollars on these individuals; money which could be spent on helping the many who can be helped if gotten to in time!
Nancee
If only that law had actually passed. Of course, Texas justice is an express lane compared to California where the only difference between a life sentence and the death penalty is which prison you are put in.
