im using Vista Ultimate 64bit and it works great... the side bar is nice and it has some really nice "gadgets" i added one for the music that plays songs at random and it gives great control, I have ripped over 100 music cd's that i own to my hard drive at 192kbps in mp3 format... WMP11 is awesome! The new "sleep" feature in Vista is sweet and it will boot vista instantly(just enough time to turn on the monitor!) pretty impressive!

Adobe Photoshop
Microsoft Office 2007
Nero 7 Ultra Edition
AnyDVD(Will remove DVD encription
Divx
Ac3Filter
Vista Manager(good program to tweak vista like tweak ui another one is Tweak VI for vista)
Avast! Antivirus
7-Zip!

Thank you!

My family is spending all hours possible to get most of our education on BSD (UNIX) platforms because of the part of the market I'm training for: development of multi-platform, direct rendering packages and uncostly, secure, fast networks with thin clients. I only get to have a peek at MS operating system interfaces once in a while for testing and the like, and we can't yet afford to buy everything new that's out there. Most networks that offer software for workplace efficiency also include an internal Microsoft server (familiar GUIs). We also need to guess as to how soon we should upgrade our MS drive for that purpose.

For now, we're also making decisions about whether we should concentrate on learning more about the MS GUI library or the Fox GUI Toolkit (very familiar look and feel for MS users but very portable to various OSs and good license addendum for commercial development).
