Many new lows reached across Washington (State) in 2006

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- The past year featured the usual smorgasbord of horrific news in Washington: Death, destruction, bestiality, politics, drug abuse and new civic slogans.

So let us delve deeper into the panorama of Washington - from Olympia to Pullman - to observe some of the lowest forms of human conduct. By no means intended to be a comprehensive list, here's a sampling of the lows reached in the Evergreen State in the past 12 months:

ROAST BEEF: Spokane County deputies tasered a runaway cow so many times in April that the animal died. "We're not cowboys," sheriff's spokesman Dave Reagan observed. "I don't believe we have any rodeo champions on staff."
