CHRISTMAS STORIES
Tim Burton's holiday classic, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (1993), makes a return to the big screen each holiday season. The dazzling new make-over of the musical-fantasy was led by writer/producer Tim Burton and the technical wizards at Industrial Light + Magic.
Audiences will get closer than ever to Halloweentown's beloved Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, as he attempts to take over the Christmas holiday. Against the advice of Sally, a lonely rag doll who has feelings for him, Jack enlists three mischievous trick-or-treaters Lock, Shock, and Barrel to help him kidnap Santa Claus. Jack eventually realizes his mistake but has to contend with the evil Oogie Boogie before he can make things right and restore the Christmas holiday. Fueled by an unforgettable soundtrack featuring ten ghoulishly delightful songs by Danny Elfman who also provided the singing voice for Jack.
A CHRISTMAS STORY (1985) is humorist Jean Shepard's vignette-laden, nostalgic view of Christmastime in Indiana during the 1940s.
The main story involves nine-year-old Ralphie, who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas -- and is waging an all-out campaign to convince his reluctant parents that the toy will be safe in his hands. Meanwhile, Ralphie prepares for the big day with his rather idiosyncratic family. For example, his brother has a strange relationship with food, and his dad is obsessed with a crossword puzzle contest. But the most important question of all is...when Christmas Day arrives, will Ralphie be the proud (and careful) owner of a Red Ryder BB Gun?
ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946) George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas ! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years. Will Clarence be able to convince George to return to his family and forget about suicide ?

NOW--I KNOW why I got that comprehensive insurance after all. I guess, once again--God knew--even though I had NO IDEA that was going to happen.
Not too mention--those who have seen the car say it was a miracle that the windshield did not shatter and the deer come into the car--and we all know what could have happened then!!(those who have seen "Tommy Boy" know what happens when a deer is inside of a car--and I would have been IN THE SEAT!!)
Even the usual-doubting Chuck,(who does NOT think that God watches over his children or blesses us) said it was a miracle that the windshield, held--you can see where the deer rolled over the windshield, onto the hood and over the left fender, damaging all but the windshield, which only has a "grease pattern" on it, where the deer slid down it. So..I may not have to pay a lot of money to fix the car after all... God does know what he is doing!!
Glad to hear that everything is going to turn out for the better, I hope it still works out fine. Hope you don't mind some sundry cleanup from last weeks agenda, been busy at work and I haven't had a true day off since December 10th. The lady who runs the room I'm in, she's a devout Roman Catholic, told me that when "one hears such a voice or a gut feeling, usually it is God or an angel trying to tell you something." Well, I seem to believe it myself when I think back about moving my car from the tree. Getting a little closer to Earth, I remember in "Magnum P.I." where Magnum says, "if you hear your little voice, listen to it." My inner voice has kept me out of trouble but if I don't listen to it, I end up in a mess.
I've seen and heard my fair share of messy accidents both with deer and other. I worked at Budget Rent-A-Truck from 1989 to 1991 and we had one truck called "The Deer Slayer" where it did take out a deer, it was a 24' box truck and another one like it called "The Widowmaker" where a guy in a Geo plowed into the rear of the truck, his car went under the trucks rear and the liftgate, well, decapitated him and his head was in the back seat. Both were International trucks, IIRC.
Getting back to the deer, we have a huge problem with them here in Pennsylvania too, one has to be careful.
