And there's the opportunity. Help folks out when ever you can, whether it's food, money, time, whatever. Planned or spontaneous, that's where your feeling of Christmas comes from.
My wife has trouble with large crowds, so to take her mind of a frenzied mall, I laughed and told her to count smiles with me. We crossed the entire 1st and then the 2nd floor of the large completely packed mall, and only counted 6 smiles. Plenty of room around the holidays to subtly help folks out feel the spirit since there are a lot of people out there who have lost it.

Every Christmas, I always seem to manage to help a friend, acquaintance or family member that could use a little extra something. It just seems to fall into my lap and that little calm voice from deep down speaks.
BTW, I'm just like your wife when it comes to crowds. Personally, it's just a hassle that is not needed in my life negotiating the frenzies. I do with reluctance and disdain.
God Bless you and yours and a Merry Merry Christmas!!
