Those pageants are harldy a model of virtue to begin with so what's the big deal? It's like criticizing a Democrat for being anti-American or for being a coward. Any girl who struts around on national TV prostituting herself for a scholarship is no paradigm of virtue.
Probably worse, since they surely make more money to enable their behavior.
I honestly find it gratifying when role models are proven to be human beings. They are full of the same lust that every person feels, and the great majority act upon to some degree. Or would, if they could.
(Not to excuse them, quite the contrary... rather to make them stop preaching.)
