SAN FRANCISCO -- Nothing is sacred for thieves who have snatched two sheep and a lamb from a San Francisco church's Nativity scene.
Normally, four life-sized animals grace the holy scene set up on the lawn on of the West Portal Lutheran Church at 200 Sloat Blvd., off busy 19th Avenue, depicting the birth of Jesus in a stable.
Now there is only one. The sheep and lamb have disappeared this month, Jan Lundquist, the church's secretary, said today.
Lundquist was flabbergasted that someone would stoop to pilfering the replicas of barnyard animals. "What is somebody going to do, put one of these in their living room?''

I think that either PETA types kidnapped them and tried to return them to the wild or some homeless person thought they were free lamb chops still on the hoof.
The Californication angle is just too much for me to contemplate.

San Francisco? I have a baaaaaaaaaad feeling about this one. Either PETA's involved...
