Aah too bad! I was thinking about driving up from Houston to get it.
No, I really wasn't, but I would love to have had it if it was closer. I had a Basset once. Sweetheart of a dog.(note to self: you have 3 dogs already, that's enough!)

I have two dogs myself as well as a cat. Once upon a time I used to pick up all the strays I found and took them home. Fortunately for me people quit dumping their pups out where I live. The s-i-l loves bassets and would have gone and adopted it. I think it was devine intervention that someone else adopted it. S-i-l lives in an apartment.

We used to live out in the country and people from town would bring animals out and dump them and we took in many strays that way. I had a great young dog, Collie German Shepherd mix, who would not stay home. When she didn't come home one night, bright and early the next morning I made the rounds of all the neighbors looking for Hush Puppy. One older man looked very embarrassed when I showed him Hush Puppy's picture. He sheepishly admitted he had taken her into town and dumped her because he thought that is where she had come from. I got her back!

From girlscout:
I sent this on to my sister-in-law in Dallas and she called. They told her someone had already adopted this cute puppy. Glad it found a home.

Amen. Isn't that special???? They can say what they want about our country but...there are so many good, special people in it who care about innocent little critters. My husband says it shouldn't be called a Humane Society if they euthanize animals. And...who in thee hell could do that on Christmas Eve anyway? Why Christmas Eve? Seems to me there is more sympathy by some for terrorists, murderers, rapist, child abusers and perverts than there is for helpless little puppies and other creatures.
God bless the people who adopted that sweet little dog.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I saw that cute little face and seriously thought about driving down to Irving since it's not all that far from me.
Then I looked at the three critters and the cat I already have and had second thoughts.
Then I said "To heck with it, what's one more!"
Then I read down the rest of the thread...Whew! I didn't really want to get out in the rainy, cold weather and drive to Irving!
I'm glad the pup found a home and I hope it will be well loved.

I'm so glad to hear she's been adopted. That face! I would have flown there and got her myself, I was so tempted.
