well I've just upgraded one of my machines from a Athlon 3400+ to an Opteron 170 (dual core) running at 2.5ghz and have the 502 console running 2 sessions at 95%. How did the upgrade go? I do not have a true dual core cpu, but I did borg a work laptop that is running a Core Dual. I set the CPU % doen to 70% on each core to combat overheating. Maybe one day I will see the laptop again to check out the log.
Have you had any heat issues?
Well the CPU is now humming along at
2.7 GHZ and mostly stable on a ASROCK 939-VSTA motherboard on a 1GB Mushking PC3200 memory. I also have 5 drives (320GB - 750GB) online but just plodding along with a PNY Geforce FX5500 video card.
I can hardly wait to upgrade to a ATI Radeon 9500 XTX and do some real folding: crunching 1WU in 5 minutes!!
