ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-SAN DIEGO COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-
147 AM PST SAT DEC 16 2006
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PST MONDAY.
A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL WILL INCREASE TODAY OFF THE COASTS OF
ORANGE AND SAN DIEGO COUNTIES. THE LARGE SWELL WILL HAVE A
MODERATELY LONG PERIOD OF 14 SECONDS. THIS WILL BRING HIGH SURF
TO ORANGE COUNTY AND SAN DIEGO COUNTY BEACHES THROUGH MONDAY.
SURF WILL INCREASE TODAY TO 4 TO 7 FEET WITH SETS TO 8 FEET IN
ORANGE COUNTY AND INCREASE TO 5 TO 8 FEET WITH SETS TO 10 TO 12
FEET IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY. THE SURF WILL BE HIGHEST IN SOUTHERN SAN
DIEGO COUNTY. THE SURF WILL INCREASE SLIGHTLY SUNDAY AND THEN
DECREASE MONDAY.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL IMPACT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.
IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO FISH OR OBSERVE WAVES FROM EXPOSED
COASTAL STRUCTURES OR ROCKS DURING HIGH SURF CONDITIONS. VERY
LARGE WAVES CAN SUDDENLY SWEEP ACROSS PREVIOUSLY DRY AREAS.
SWIMMING OR SURFING IN THESE WAVES MAY BE DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE
DUE TO THE POWERFUL WAVES AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
All Bush's fault.
Surfers were out yesterday,...late afternoon...and there seemed to be some nice waves already...
Luckily it isn't Summer or there'd be tourists getting swept off the rocks here. Pwople from the interior of the country don't appreciate how much power is in those giant waves of water crashing around them.

I was down at Blackies for a cup of coffee awhile ago. It is barely overhead now. Here is a link to the surfcam looking towards Huntington Beach.

This morning, it's so foggy up here in the high desert that I just stood outside, marveling how much it resembles Bakersfield.
I have to be out & about tonight. Keep your fingers crossed that the 14 freeway doesn't ice up til after midnight!
Johnnie Utah...who'd he play for?
stay safe please
Totally tubular, dude!
Ohio State...number 9.
Thank you. :) It was nearly dry as a bone, all the way home at 11 last night. I was thankful, but sad that we missed any weather. I'm always on the lookout for it!
