Dixie Chicks to Split Up After Grammy's? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dixie Chicks just scored the big trifecta with Grammy nominations. The one-time country band that turned their collective backs on the music genre, its stars and its fans cleaned up with the three majors, Best Album, Song and Record for “Taking the Long Way” and the single, “Not Ready to Make Nice.”
The Chicks were one of eight acts with five nominations each, as it appears that the Grammy's are desperately trying to give the gals some love for their America bashing ways.
Now a report claims that the Chicks may split after the show.
The source is the National Enquirer and the weekly tabloid reports that the controversial country superstars have secretly decided to split up after the Grammy Awards - because Emily Robison and Martie Maguire no longer want to share the nest with outspoken Natalie Maines, say sources.

"The Chicks are tired and wrung out," a group insider reportedly told the weekly entertainment magazine. "They feel they've come to the end, and they want a break from each other to spend more time with their families."
The three women, who have seven children among them, are at odds over Natalie's blunt political ramblings. And while sources say sisters Emily and Martie share many of Natalie's anti-George W. Bush views, they feel her public rants have taken the focus off their music.

No denial is printed with the online report. But many speculated that the sisters would dump Maines long ago and that has yet to happen.

For all the hype surrounding their tour. Less than 300K US Citizens saw them on tour and a lot of those were "Freebie" tickets! LOL
I belatedly booted SNL in favor of MadTV in my DVR schedule only a month ago.
when the last CD came out, they were being sold at a DEEP discount also.

When I was single, I always seemed to attract fat chicks. Not that I sought THEM, but they were always hitting on me. I developed a rep as a chubby chaser, totally undeserved...

It's also true. Not that I dislike heavier women, but they always seemed to be attracted to me. They used to hit on me very frequently, but the more slender ones never did.

I'm not sure Natalie is smart enough to figure it out. Back before she opened her big mouth there were rumors that she wanted to go solo but there wasn't any interest. The gNatty one probably thinks the publicity is good for her. She really is clueless.
I think the sisters were afraid of her. Ever see the way she would stare at them during interviews? Once this all dies down the sisters will probably be able to get session work. But the better days are behind them I think.
And she deserves that moment after the way she was treated.
I read somewhere that her husband won the LOTTO and they are now millionares. Good for them.
Hmmmm... I wonder what their side of the story is? ;-)
